Prone Support - Troubleshooting
Common Mistake
Solution
The head support angle position slips during the procedure
This is caused by not locking the blue thumbscrew on the Adjustable assembly adequately. Ensure that this is screwed tightly before every procedure.
The head support height position slips during the procedure
This is caused by not locking the blue lever on the Adjustable assembly to the correct position. Ensure that the blue lever is pointing vertically downward in a locked position before every procedure.
It is difficult to remove the Adjustable assembly from the Base Board.
The Adjustable assembly locks to the Base Board by clipping underneath the edge on the underside. To remove the Adjustable assembly you must grip the leg and tilt it inward toward the centre of the Base Board to disengage the clip, before lifting upward to remove.
The face pad slips from beneath the patients face during the procedure.
To ensure the face pad remains beneath the patients face for the duration of the procedure ensure all 4 connecting pins are fully inserted through the Face support of the Adjustable assembly.
The Base Board does not seem secure.
To ensure the Base Board is secure for the duration of the procedure ensure that it is pushed beneath the mattress enough. Slide the Base Board under the mattress until it contacts the small protrusion from the underside.
Breakage in the Adjustable Assembly occurs, and the product dislodges when the patient uses it to support themselves during set up and removal.
Multiple operators may be required to safely support the patient’s weight during device set up and removal, while a single operator inserts and/or removes the product.
When setting up, ensure patient is on the table prior to product insertion. During removal, the product must be removed prior to moving the patient.
Apply your local safety protocols to ensure patient safety. The product is not fixed to the imaging table and may dislodge when unsupported by patient weight.
It is difficult to set up and remove the product with the patient still on the imaging table.
Consider product set up and/or removal using multiple operators to support the patient’s weight, while a single operator inserts and/or removes the product under the mattress.
